MISSION STATEMENT:

Family Ministries exists to serve the church by serving families through:

Education, which fosters biblical principles of relationship;

Nurture, which heals and helps all people as connected to a family; and

Discipleship, which informs and protects the family as a divinely ordained institution.


 

MINISTRY PROCLAMATIONS:

Premise: Truth is intended to be experienced through covenant relationships with God and within marriage, family, and the Church.

Proposition: Family ministry is the context of equipping people to experience God’s truth through covenant love in relationships.

Passion: We are compelled to bless the heart of God by experiencing great commandment love and fulfilling the great commission in covenant with one another.

Partnership: The family ministry t.e.a.m. exists to affirm the family as divinely instituted, elevate the concept of family ministry in the local church, provide family ministers, full-time and volunteer, effective ministry resources and training, and enhance the credibility of family ministers with skill-based knowledge and certification.


 

MINISTRY OBJECTIVES:

  • To integrate the priority of family ministry into the life of the church
  • To minister to clergy and lay marriages through enrichment retreats and programs
  • To produce resources applicable for local church family ministry
  • To publish a family ministry magazine that is inspirational and educational in nature
  • To issue a quarterly newsletter that addresses cultural issues impacting the family and church
  • To offer training that increases skill-based knowledge
  • To equip family ministers through certification
  • To enlist family ministers as T.E.A.M. participants
  • To articulate a theology of family in the Pentecostal context
  • To assist training institutions in developing a Twenty-first Century family ministry paradigm


 

MINISTRY STRATEGIES:

  • Increase awareness of family needs
  • Enlist support for family ministry emphasis
  • Offer education to constituency about challenges facing the family
  • Partner with departments and para-church agencies for optimal ministry effect
  • Train clergy trainers who can provide training to local churches
  • Equip spouses and parents for healthy family living
